I did my own investigation because I knew the police where not going to do it.
The side back window of the jeep has a bar that is pretty hard to get through so I knew it had to be someone who was kind of young. On the fender was a shoe impression since I didn't wash it you could clearly see it. It looked like it was from convers shoes. The back seat had cigarette ash streak from when the person crawled with a cigarette in his mouth. About 2 and a half yards away I find a cigarette that is completely white and is not brown like the usual ones that you see, leading to the apartment complexes. My theory was teenager to mid twenties who wear something like convers shoes and smokes.
The next day I went to the front of the apartment complex to watch for suspects coming off the bus from school. I saw one kid who was like 15 who was wearing convers shoes and I followed him to his apartment which was two apartments away where my vehicle got broken into. So I was going to the office to see if the apartment that he lived smoked. I sat in the front for an extra 30 min. when I see this teenager with a red plaid shirt, tight pants and converse shoes, coughing and smoking a cigarette that is completely white. I followed him home after seeing him talk to a guy in a black car. I saw him go to an apartment upstairs less than10 yards form where the vehicle got broken into and then leave. I went to the black car and said that I was investigating about a car that got broken into and if he knew the guy who was wearing red. He said “yes”, I asked him “well do you live with him” he said no, but “he does” pointing to the guy in the passenger seat. I asked him “so that guy lives with you, what apartment number is it?” he said, 7203. I said thank you for the information and went back to the front of the apartments to sit and call the police officer or investigator that was on the case number. They never answered so I started walking back to my place, when I hear a car honking. It was the same black car but the suspect was riding in the back. He comes out the back and says “I’m sorry but I was drunk and stupid. What if I return the stuff?” “What was it that was taken?” he said. I said “you tell me.” He said “was it something like a box or a tool chest?” I said “I guess”. He goes on to tell me that he lives with his sister and some guys dropped him off and they where drunk. They broke into a red vehicle also, but didn’t take anything because there was nothing in there. He gave me the other 3 people’s name but my pen stopped working. He said more than one person was doing it. I go to the front office and find out that only his sister should be living there due to you have to pay extra for people to live with you and they have to get a background check by the apartment office.
